Aisles Of The Locust Staff Area Route: Back Rooms to Loading Dock

Aisles Of The Locust staff area route: back rooms, maintenance corridors, the last-corridor chase, and the loading dock gate — plus the Locust flashlight rule.

The staff side of the supermarket is not a room-by-room map you explore — it is a single connected chain you run in one direction. It begins at the electronic staff door and ends at the loading dock: use the access card to override the lock, pass through the staff back rooms into the maintenance corridors, survive the scripted chase that starts in the last corridor, and slip past the closing security gate to finish the run.

If your staff door is still locked, the card and how to grab it are covered in the Aisles Of The Locust access card guide. This page picks up at the moment you already have it in hand.

The route through the staff area, stage by stage

The escape walkthrough treats the back of the store as a straight line: every space connects to the next, all the way out.

For the corridors themselves — the longest stretch — the Aisles Of The Locust maintenance corridors page goes deeper.

What the back rooms and corridors are actually like

The route as documented passes through this stretch without naming any rooms, offices, or interior landmarks, and without any branch choices between the door and the last corridor. So navigate by progression, not by landmark names: the door is behind you, the last corridor is ahead, and the loading dock is at the end of the run. Treat the back rooms and the maintenance corridors as one continuous passage rather than a set of spaces to explore — once the card overrides the lock, your job is to move forward until the corridor triggers the chase.

That also means there is nothing to gather back there before you commit to the run. If you still have shopping or setup to do on the retail floor, the Aisles Of The Locust walkthrough covers the full game order; finish it before you swipe the card.

The last corridor: how the chase starts

The chase is scripted — entering the last corridor is what triggers it. The moment you commit, the Locust pursues you through collapsing hallways, and the walkthrough's own warning is that you need to already know where you're running before you enter. In practice, that means:

  • Know that the run goes one way: last corridor → collapsing hallways → loading dock gate.
  • Make sure your flashlight and sprint are in working shape before you step in — battery matters over a long pursuit, so don't arrive with it half spent.
  • Don't enter at half health, mid-shopping, or while fumbling with controls; there is no pause once the trigger fires.

The chase itself is broken down further in the Aisles Of The Locust final chase walkthrough.

The loading dock: finishing the run

The run ends at the loading dock, where a closing security gate stands between you and the finish. Slide past it to complete the escape. The Aisles Of The Locust loading dock page covers this endpoint in more detail.

The flashlight rule behind the store

Wherever the Locust is nearby — retail floor or back corridors — turn your flashlight off: it tracks players by sight and light exposure, so a lit beam points it straight at you. This is general pursuit behavior, not a mechanic special to the staff area, but the dark maintenance corridors are exactly where you'll be tempted to lean on the light. Use it in short bursts to find your footing and kill it whenever the Locust could be close. More on the creature itself is in the Aisles Of The Locust locust guide, and the Aisles Of The Locust flashlight page covers the tool.

  • Entering the last corridor unprepared. It is the chase trigger, not just another hallway — commit only when you already know the running line to the dock.
  • Running the corridors with the flashlight on. Light exposure draws the Locust; keep it off while the creature is anywhere near you.
  • Wandering the back rooms looking for named landmarks. The documented route has none between the door and the last corridor — treat the stretch as a straight passage and keep moving.
